**About the Role**:
The Coordinator of HSLC is integral to the ongoing operations of the Health Simulation Learning Centre which supports learners from across programs in the Faculty of Health, Community and Education including Nursing, Midwifery and other professional programs, in addition to external users. The Coordinator of HSLC works in conjunction with the Simulation Technicians to coordinate and support smooth, efficient and effective operations.

The work requires 3-5 years past experience within healthcare environments and because the primary users are nursing students, a broad understanding of nursing knowledge, skills and attributes. The Coordinator researches and coordinates the purchase of equipment, supplies and teaching/learning resources; and coordinates scheduling of HSLC activities. The position requires operating knowledge of a variety of simulators, appropriate use of these devices and ongoing support and maintenance. The Coordinator works closely with the HSLC Manager and is first point of contact for faculty in order to facilitate effective delivery of the practice component completed within the SLC.

The Coordinator promotes and supports the vision of the HSLC. The HSLC on the Lincoln Park campus is comprised of six, eight bed clinical teaching rooms in addition to 4 simulation suites/control rooms/debriefing rooms. This is a full-time position working Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays (negotiated) for external bookings and Open House.

**Responsibilities**:
**Responsibility 1 ( 55 %): Facility Coordination**
- Researches current nursing/medical supplies and equipment to be used as teaching/learning resources. Presents findings to HSLC Manager/Faculty Lead, Course Coordinators and Simulation Technicians for further discussion.
- Orders supplies and equipment to maintain sufficient levels of inventory for the HSLC.
- Oversees maintenance and cleaning of SLC equipment and supplies including Human Patient Simulators and related devices. Reports service needs to SLC Manager and follows up with any service requirements.
- Ensures equipment and supplies are set up as required, restocked and maintained as necessary.
- Assists HSLC Simulation Technicians with preparation of supplies as needed, ensures accurate set-up and take-down of equipment for scheduled classes and student practice sessions.
