RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC
The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).

Position summary
Under the supervision of the Manager of Oncology Research, Centre for Innovative Medicine (CIM), the Quality Control Administrator is responsible for supporting the successful conduct of clinical research studies at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Glen site, in Oncology. Quality Controls data generated by the CIM Oncology Team and produces/maintains important key performance index. Acts as a resource person to CIM Oncology Research Teams.

General Duties
- Reviews patient charts, coordinates and is responsible for quality control of data.
- Applies an understanding of oncology clinical research methodology, data collection and analysis, diagnosis and treatment.
- Interpret findings and identify issues such as non-compliance and scientific misconduct. Reports findings to the Manager for follow-up with (if required): Centre Representative and Scientific Director, CIM Compliance Specialist to generate working instructions, Study Personnel, Research Coordinator(s), Research Nurse(s), Data Entry Clerks and other medical departments
- Promotes awareness and understanding of Good Clinical Practices, Health Canada Division 5, RI-MUHC SOPs
- Identifies and highlights problems/discrepancies, resolves problems and informs appropriate parties of corrective action where required.
- Organizes and/or trains study personnel including investigators on issues and trends that require additional reviews.
- Acts as a resource person to oncology research team, investigators, pharmacists and internal/external departments regarding RI-MUHC policies and procedures, funding, and regulatory agencies rules and regulations.
- Ensures that activities are performed in accordance with RI-MUHC governing bodies policies and procedures.
- Provides ongoing advice and guidance to CIM Oncology Research team, keeps up-to-date RI-MUHC Research activities and programs, confirms priorities and timeframes, and organizes work accordingly.
- Creates and strengthens internal and external collaborations.
- Develops and maintains template files to be used by the department, such as patient contact cards, electronic study folder system framework, active study lists, etc.

Education / Experience

**Education**: Bachelor's Degree

**Work Experience**: Project Management experience and Two (2) years of experience in a hospital/clinical setting is preferred.

**Other requirements**:

- Excellent French and English, spoken and written,
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,
- Ability to work independently or with teams with minimum supervision,
- Excellent organizational and ability to multi-task and prioritizing time-sensitive issues and completing tasks within short timelines on a regular basis

Additional information

**Status**: Temporary, Full-Time (3 years)

**Pay Scale**: Commensurate with education & work experience.

**Work Shift**: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday
