**Controller/Assistant Controller**

In a context of strong growth and continuous development, Power-Q is currently looking for an Assistant Controller to oversee the day-to-today finances of the Company, develop financial policies and processes, and work closely with the leadership team on major initiatives.

To be successful in this role you must be willing to be hands-on, as well as capable of contributing at a strategic level. You must have an exceptional attention to detail, an analytical thinker, and a desire to mentor newcomers as the finance department grows. Our ideal Assistant Controller is someone who has a strong business acumen, is working towards a Controller position, and is aligned with our mission to make this world a better place.

**Your key responsibilities are**:

- Assist the financial reporting, tax planning & compliance function of the business.
- Administer Accounts Payable and receivables.
- Verify that Payroll processing and time sheet management are consistent.
- Coordinate activities with external auditors (Annual Review Engagement)
- Develop & implement internal controls around financial processes to improve efficiency.
- Create comprehensive reports on the company's key metrics to support other leads.
- Treasury management (Cash flow forecast, Budget process, Etc.)
- Assist the Director of Finance in various ad-hoc projects (Research, Funding, Business Review, Etc.)
- A desire to work in a fast-paced environment.
- High achiever with proven success in previous roles or projects
- Exceptional verbal and written communications skills
- Strong organizational skills & attention to detail

**Requirements**:

- University degree in Accounting, Administration, taxation, or other relevant degree
- Minimum 3-4 years of relevant experience in a similar role or in accounting and finance
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP software
- Fluent in English or French

**Other Important assets**:

- Professional accounting designation will be an Asset
- Experience with SAGE 50 and/or Odoo considered an Asset
- Financial modeling experience is an Asset
- Bilingual English and French is an Asset

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $18.00-$24.00 per hour

- Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
