**Recovery Coach**

Red Road Lodge is seeking a Recovery Coach to join our team in Winnipeg, MB.

As a Recovery Coach, you will be responsible for helping individuals with substance use disorders overcome their physical and emotional barriers to recovery. You will work with clients on developing a personal recovery plan, and develop a plan for them to follow through with their plan. You will also help clients maintain their progress towards recovery, and provide support to clients as they work through their plan. You will also help clients become more aware of the signs of their physical and emotional barriers to recovery, and help them take the necessary steps to overcome those barriers. You will also assist in developing and implementing individualized recovery plans for each client.

Under the guidance and supervision of the Executive Director, the Recovery Coaches/ Cultural Facilitator is primarily responsible for client orientation to the site, the facility, the neighbourhood with a focus on client safety and security and to serve as a Client Coach and Mentor, beginning by _reviewing program requirements, rules, responsibilities, guidelines and assisting clients in reviewing their goals as outlined in their Individual Service and Healing Plans and by jointly developing and agreeing to strategies for successful program participation and completion._

Shifts for this position take place through the hours of 10:00 pm - 6:00 pm Monday to Friday and on occasion, evening and weekend shifts may be require for Cultural connection purposes.

Collaborates with community partners and referral source(s) as directed by the Executive Director and Housing Support Facilitator to ensure their engagement and cooperation throughout client’s program participation while living at the Lodge and continues once they transition to community living.

Knowledge of the Provincial Standards and Guidelines for Adult Residential Substance Use.

Cultural Facilitator / Recovery Coaches must be capable of managing an urgent care situation, providing safety for all clients and intervene effectively with clients in crisis and minimise the potential for harm while dealing with emergencies and emergency personnel. Reports to Executive Director, all matters relating to client care and safety, as well as the safety and security of the facility; including any incidents requiring written formal Incident Report.

Additionally:

- A good knowledge and understanding of Indigenous Teachings and traditional cultural practices and ceremonies.
- A working knowledge of Land Based Healing
- A good understanding of Complex Trauma and the ReACT and EnRoute programs
- A working knowledge of 12 Step Recovery Programs and Wellbriety
- Ability to work in MS Words and Excel, and ability to enter data into a database
- Provides conflict resolution skills with clients to de-escalate conflicts
- Intervenes effectively with clients in crisis and minimise the potential for harm
- Contributes to client case management duties, including report writing, filing and documentation.
- Communicates clearly and professionally in written and verbal form, with Red Road Lodge’s fellow staff, and other professionals as required.
- Performs administrative tasks related to client safety and client caseload in an accurate, neat and timely fashion. Reviews client reports and referrals.
- Working knowledge of CARMIS and /or HIFIS
- Valid Manitoba Drivers License

**Qualifications**:

- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must have or obtain a high school diploma or GED
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
- Previous experience in substance use disorder treatment or other related fields is preferred.
- Must be willing to go beyond the call of duty when assisting with special projects or emergencies
- Must have the ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
