The Municipal District of Bonnyville No. 87 is seeking an accomplished and experienced Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) to provide strategic leadership and oversee its municipal operations. Situated in northeastern Alberta, 2.5 hours from Edmonton, the M.D. is a thriving and economically diverse region, home to more than 13,000 residents. **The Role**:
As CAO, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the M.D. of Bonnyville by providing strategic leadership and driving organizational success. You will be responsible for the overall administration of the M.D., leading a team of seven direct reports and over 155 full-time staff, with a combined budget of approximately $150 million. Reporting directly to the Reeve and Council, you will manage and coordinate municipal operations, ensuring that the M.D.'s strategic goals and daily functions are effectively implemented.

You will lead a collaborative team dedicated to delivering exceptional services, ensuring the MD of Bonnyville remains a desirable place to live and work.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Lead and manage the M.D.’s departments, providing strategic oversight and direction.
- Collaborate with staff, and community stakeholders to foster a unified approach to municipal governance.
- Council liaison providing professional advice and support.
- Oversee financial management, including budgeting, financial planning, and fiscal responsibility.
- Ensure compliance with the Alberta Municipal Government Act (MGA) and other relevant legislation.
- Drive organizational development, staff engagement, and the implementation of strategic initiatives.

**Qualifications**:

- A post-secondary degree in Business Management, Public Administration, Land Use Planning, Engineering, or a related field.
- Local Authority Administration Level I and Level II training (preferred).
- A deep understanding of financial processes, budgeting, and municipal governance.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to build collaborative relationships with elected officials, staff, industry partners, and the public.
- Proven experience in strategic planning, organizational development, and team building.
- Extensive knowledge of the Alberta Municipal Government Act (MGA) and related legislation.
- Familiarity with relevant technology to streamline municipal operations.
