As the Power Systems Maintainer, you will be accountable for conducting daily traction power system maintenance and repairs. Primary duties include:

- Coordinate with a number of internal and external partners for the timely completion of maintenance activities and construction projects.
- Attend or perform safety tailboards and hazard assessments prior to starting work on site.
- Perform hands-on maintenance, inspections, repairs, adjustments, test, and provide diagnostic analysis for all traction power maintenance activities.
- Assist in the switching orders and provide Guarantee of Isolation (GOI) for traction power maintenance activities or for parties working on or near the traction power system.
- Attend and contribute for Traction Power Systems construction/capital projects meetings.
- Review and participate in Traction Power System designs with CT Engineering and vendors.
- Execute hands-on installation, testing, and commissioning of traction power system additions and upgrades.
- Monitor and maintain spare parts, equipment, and tools on the maintenance vehicles.
- Arrange and pick up equipment and materials as required.
- Evaluate and test new Traction Power System products and equipment.
- Perform rotational on-call duty which may include trouble responses.
- Respond to emergency responses to incidents and trouble on the Light Rail Transit (LRT) Traction Power System.

**Qualifications**

- A Journeyman Construction Electrician certificate.
- At least 1 year of experience as a construction electrician with preference in traction power, substation, power line, and/or high voltage electrical system operations and maintenance.
- A valid Class 5 Driver’s License (or provincial equivalency) with no more than 6 demerits OR a Class 5 Graduated Driver’s License (GDL) with no more than 4 demerits.
- Ability to obtain a City of Calgary operator's permit.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to work well in a team while working independently.

**Working Conditions**:This position works in an outdoor environment in all types of weather (for example: heat, cold, snow, rain) and involves walking, lifting, and physical activity.
