**Position Overview**

The Black Community Resource Centre (BCRC) is seeking a dynamic and innovative Project Coordinator to lead a youth-led animated documentary project. This project aims to explore and share the rich history, culture, and achievements of the Black community in Montreal through the medium of animation. The Project Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the project from inception to completion, ensuring that the project goals are met while empowering and engaging with local Black youth in the creative process.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Project Management**:Plan, execute, and manage all phases of the project, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation to ensure timely completion within budget.
- **Youth Engagement**: Recruit, mentor, and support a diverse group of English-speaking Black youth participants, fostering an inclusive, creative, and productive environment.
- Collaboration and Networking: Liaise with partners, stakeholders, and contributors, including animation professionals, historians, and community leaders, to enrich the project’s content and impact.
- **Workshop Coordination**:Organize and facilitate workshops and training sessions for youth participants in animation, storytelling, historical research, and documentary filmmaking.
- **Content Development**: Oversee the research, scripting, production, and post-production processes of the animated documentary, ensuring the content is historically accurate, culturally respectful, and engaging.
- **Outreach and Promotion**: Develop and implement strategies to promote the project and its outcomes to the wider community, including screenings, social media campaigns, and educational materials.
- **Reporting and Documentation**: Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to BCRC and stakeholders; compile final reports and evaluations upon project completion.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Animation, Film Production, History, Education, Project Management, or related field.
- Proven experience in project coordination or management, preferably in the arts, education, or community engagement sectors.
- Strong understanding of and commitment to preserving and promoting Black history and culture.
- Experience working with youth, particularly in mentoring or educational capacities.
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team environment.
- Knowledge of animation production processes and software is highly desirable.
- Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset, given the project’s location in Montreal.

**Working Conditions**:

- This is a full-time position based in Montreal, Quebec, with some flexibility for remote work.
- The role requires occasional evening and weekend work to accommodate project activities and events.
- Travel within Montreal and potentially to other locations in Quebec may be required.
