Maintenance Technician

London, Canada Generate Upcycle Full time

Generate Upcycle team is hiring a Maintenance Technician to join our team in London, ON. The position will report directly to the Maintenance Supervisor and work closely with the Operations Team. You will be a critical member of our team, and your work will be imperative to our day-to-day operations and the overall successful growth of the business.

Duties & Responsibilities:

- Respond in a timely manner to machine breakdown to maximize equipment uptime
- Maintain organized and tidy work areas, including clean-up after machine repairs
- Respond in a timely manner to emergency "call in" for facility and equipment repair
- Perform mechanical repairs to equipment and Facility
- Assist in maintaining plant electrical cabinets, motors, brushes, disconnects, lighting as required
- Complete prescribed corrective and preventative maintenance as assigned
- Assist with maintenance of parts inventory by monitoring stock levels and making re-order requests
- Assist in maintaining a safe plant environment through prompt response to safety work requests/observations
- Assist with engineering and continuous improvement development of electrical standards
- Participate in regular discussions with Plant Manager and Maintenance Supervisor to plan out daily and weekly tasks, and identify major work that has been done that will impact shift operation
- Assist with maintaining electrical supplies
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Education, Experience and Certifications:

- Three (3) years' experience working with machinery in an industrial environment.
- Licensed Millwright (Province of Ontario) preferred
- Licensed Industrial Electrician (Province of Ontario) preferred

- Ability to be a team-player for overall company success.
- Ability to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends and overtime when required

Physical Requirements:

- Reach (including above the head), bend, climb, push, pull twist, squat, and kneel
- Ability to work in awkward spaces
- Must be able to lift more than 50 pounds frequently.

Work Environment
- Indoors and outdoors, in a plant/warehouse setting; will be exposed to weather extremes, dirt, odor, and high levels of noise.

Pay: $43.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

- millwright: 3 years (required)

Licence/Certification:

- Electrician Licence (preferred)
- Industrial Mechanic license (preferred)
