**Duties**:
Reporting to the Manager of Inclusion, Equity and Indigenous Initiatives, this position will be part of a team that will support organizational accountability for forward movement on inclusion, accessibility, indigenization, and anti-racism. The work of this team will inform the equity framework for alignment with the corporation’s culture plan to support and promote equity and inclusion to ensure a sense of belonging, acceptance and value for all City staff and members of the community.

**Work Performed**:

- To provide AODA interpretation, consultation and recommendations to internal staff and leaders on how to identify systemic barriers that prevent full participation and develop and implement inclusive and accessible policies, procedures, programs and change to physical workspace and environment.
- Contribute to the creation of standards and best practices to promote accessibility guidelines in all corporate services and communications. Assist with implementation and execution of initiatives related to inclusion, diversity, equity and anti-racism.
- Support departmental communications with relevant initiatives and ensure communication platforms within the city are available in an accessible format.
- The Coordinator will monitor corporate accessibility initiatives, audit and ensure compliance to AODA standards, policies, practices, programs, communication (ie. electronic media
- web page content standards) and other accessibility plan requirements.
- Complete required reporting to the province of Ontario related to AODA compliance, including the maintenance of the corporate accessibility plan, policy and annual reporting.
- Participate in the development of the city’s equity, inclusion, and accessibility frameworks, and a community engagement strategy.
- Collaborate in the planning and implementation of accessibility and IDEA-related training and education, and awareness events.
- Participate on committees, act as a representative of the City of Stratford on accessibility work and initiatives across the broader community, including acting as a staff liaison.

**Qualifications**:

- Community College Diploma (3 year) in Diversity Studies, Human Resource Management, Social Science and/or related discipline.
- Progress towards completion of certificate courses and workshops in Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Anti-racism
- Minimum 1-3 years related professional experience working to support inclusion and accessibility initiatives.

**Specialized Skills, Abilities, Training, License, Memberships, or Certifications**
- Working knowledge of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and the associated standards, and experience advising on compliance with the Act and associated standards
- Experience in the identification and removal of barriers to promote accessibility and inclusion and support full participation in the workplace.
- Knowledge of Accessibility Requirements and Guidelines, Ontario Human Rights Code, Employment Standards and the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Strong Computer literacy utilizing Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), Adobe Acrobat Pro (Accessible Documents).
- Experience serving as a liaison to committees composed of staff and community volunteers.
- Availability to attend evening meetings and/or to work outside of designated normal hours per week.
