Safety/project Technician

Halifax, Canada McNally Construction Inc. Full time

**Responsibilities include but are not limited to**:

- Preparing shift/daily or weekly reports
- Completion of daily hourly employee timesheets
- Completion of daily equipment timesheets
- Procurement of temporary and permanent materials
- Support for Project Engineer (if applicable) and Superintendent(s) as required
- Completion of daily time and material sheets for claims process
- Implement and maintain a variety of occupational health, safety, and environmental programs on an active construction site.
- Implement project-specific safety and environmental plans to ensure compliance.
- Identify and address hazards on projects by performing thorough inspections at all locations on the project.
- Support compliance of municipal, provincial, and federal regulations.
- Facilitate and coordinate health and safety training programs and compliance tracking.
- Document and investigate incidents including near misses, with a focus on implementing effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Procurement of safety supplies required for the project (PPE, Rescue equipment, First Aid supplies, etc)
- Work in conjunction with the Project Manager and Supervisors to implement a safety-based focus on projects.

**Qualifications**

**Education Requirement**:

- Related College Diploma or University Degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technician or Occupational Health and Safety
- Past construction experience considered an asset

**Experience Requirements**
- Knowledge of MS Office Products.
- Experience with scheduling software is considered an asset (P6, MS Projects)
- Experience in construction Health and Safety or Marine Health and Safety preferred
- Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations
- Knowledge of Provincial and Federal laws and regulations.
