We are seeking a **Laboratory Technician **to join our growing team.
H2nanO is creating the next generation of water and emissions treatment technology. We are a growing environmental technology innovator, building solutions for hard-to-treat water contaminants, GHG emissions, and odours to support sustainable industry. **Location**: Kitchener, Ontario
We are looking for a science technician with an interest and passion for environmental research and development to assist with execution of planned test demonstrations of H2nanO’s water and emissions treatment technology.
**Laboratory Technician Roles**:
- Process water and material samples for analysis, using a variety of both standard and advanced equipment.
- Interpret and report on analytical results and maintain laboratory databases.
- Manage day-to-day activities for laboratory test programs. Maintain the lab workspace and relevant equipment.
- Assist with development of standard operating procedures, new analytical methods, and quality assurance and control programs.
- Contribute to the design and commissioning of bench-scale prototyping of novel water and emissions treatment systems.
- Assist with maintaining health and safety systems and equipment in the laboratory.

**Preferred Experience**:
College Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or equivalents.
- Practical experience working in a chemical lab environment.
- Attention to detail and data management skills.
- Strong knowledge of analytical techniques, including spectroscopy (FTIR, UV-Vis), gas chromatography, microscopy (SEM), water chemistry analysis (pH/ORP), and more.
- Ability to troubleshoot instrumentation and analytical issues.
- Ability to work independently and problem solve basic issues with assistance from other experienced professionals when needed.
- Proven ability to self-manage, problem solve, and communicate effectively.
- Prioritization of safe work practices and procedures, and contribution to a high-quality, high-integrity work culture.
- Ambitious disposition; eager to work with new technologies and projects and excited about working in a dynamic, fast-paced environments.

**Working at H2nanO**:
The Laboratory Technician role will be based in H2nanO’s new research and development facility based in Kitchener, Ontario. The team is located amidst the vibrant, rapidly growing tech hub of Kitchener-Waterloo region, with new LRT public transit infrastructure supporting access to outstanding recreational, athletic, and shopping opportunities locally, as well as easy access to Toronto’s cultural centre.
