Property Manager

The Silver Group is a well-established, family-owned, and operated company specializing in the ownership and management of residential property rentals across Ontario, Quebec and the United States, as well as the 3rd-party management of commercial properties.
We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our team to as Property Manager at our Canadian head office. This individual will be accountable for overseeing operations for our Canadian properties.
The responsibilities are as follows:
Staff Management
- Managing staff to meet our performance standards and overseeing day to day operations
- Ensure quality control is maintained at all properties
- Oversee staff payroll and commission reports
Maintenance
- Oversee all recurring maintenance and maintenance tickets to ensure they are completed in timely manner
- Oversee and assist to determine and coordinate work required prior to residential move in and turnovers
- Ensure contracts are renewed by deadlines, including contract negotiation
- Ensure all contracts and maintenance logs are properly stored by site staff
- Ensure all required preventative maintenance is completed in a timely manner for all properties, and maintain reporting for recurring and preventative maintenance
Leasing and Marketing
- Oversee all resident leasing activities, including availability and pricing
- Review Availability Report of available units weekly
- Manage marketing mediums and post ads as needed (ex. Kijiji)
Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Oversee Cost Analysis and future financial planning
- Review and code invoices on a weekly basis
- Review outstanding balances and collections, assist AR team as needed
- Assist to complete month end reporting as needed
- Completion of Commercial Common Area Expenses Reconciliation at year end
Liaison
- Direct communication with commercial tenants regarding maintenance and accounts receivable
- Direct communication with partners for updates on status of buildings
- Coordination of commercial tenants’ needs as required
- Assist paralegal as needed for legal issues
Other
- Perform other duties on as needed time to time basis as needed by owner
- Work directly with owner and controller to assist with tasks as needed
**Qualifications and Skills**:
- College Diploma or Degree in relevant field
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role
- Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel.) with high proficiency in MS Excel
- Ability to create and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly reporting
- Ability to supervise a team of 6-7 and ability to coordinate with upper management in a timely manner
- Ensuring accountability for each manager position
- Detail oriented and organized with good time management skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast paced and high-volume environment.
- Clear understanding of general ledger coding for invoice coding
- Previous experience in property management mandatory
