Detailed Overview: Reporting to the Manager, Clinical Operations, the Coordinator provides a key leadership role in planning, implementation, delivery and evaluation of clinical assessment and treatment. Functions as a resource and provides guidance, research, and educational support to Mental Health & Substance Use service providers and managers. As a member of the Developmental Disabilities Mental Health Services Team, the Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and directing program development and clinical support. The Coordinator is also responsible for the daily operations of the team, including the supervision of designated staff and performing related administrative duties, and provides clinical care to adults with psychiatric issues. Responsibilities:

- Supervises and coordinates the daily activities of the Developmental Disabilities Services team by performing duties such as establishing priorities, coordinating work assignments, ensuring adequate staff, and completing schedules to meet operational requirements and standards; monitoring and evaluating outcomes of therapeutic services; and providing a forum for staff communication and problem solving through staff meetings. Provides guidance, facilitates workplace solutions; ensures necessary resources are available or accessible, and delivers related training and orientation requirements to ensure effective client centered care.
- Provides leadership to mental health and addictions staff in ensuring the concepts important to our services by performing duties such as guiding the development, implementation and revision of new and existing psychiatric and behavioral services.
- Partners with communities in the Fraser area under the scope of the Developmental Disabilities Mental Health services. Participates in coordination and implementation of psychiatric and behavioral services.
- Develops short and long range plans and objectives for Developmental Disabilities Mental Health Services that are consistent with the strategic direction of mental health services in Fraser Health.
- Supervises designated staff, conducts performance evaluations, discusses evaluations and clarifies performance expectations with staff, and refers disciplinary issues requiring formal written documentation to the Manager; participates in staff selection process; develops, recommends and/or implements appropriate staff development and retention plans, and provides input regarding staff educational needs.
- Applies a Quality Improvement approach to psychiatric and behavioral services, ensuring attention to benchmarks, performance indicators, and research initiatives that build better clinical practices and are in keeping with Fraser Health and Provincial Mental Health frameworks.
- Maintains information systems and processes for the assigned areas; compiles, analyzes and prepares statistical reports to identify issues and trends affecting the provision of services within assigned areas. Maintains related reports, records, and statistical data, in accordance with established standards and procedures.
