**Title**: Membership Engagement and Events Coordinator

**Organization**: Downtown New West Business Improvement Association (BIA)

**Job Type**: This permanent part-time position reports to the Executive Director with some accountability to the Events & Marketing Manager. It is flexible role requiring up to 15 hours a week with no fixed hours and a remote work environment however, some on-site work is expected such as attending meetings, being present for events based off operation need as directed by the Executive Director.

**Position Overview**:
We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented individual to assist in the execution of our digital marketing strategies. The Part-time Digital Marketing Coordinator will play a crucial role in enhancing our online visibility, driving engagement, and ultimately increasing sales through various digital channels. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the dynamic field of digital marketing while contributing to the growth and success of our company.

**About Us**: Originally formed in 1989, the Downtown New West BIA provides many benefits for its members, enabling more than 650 property owners and businesses to work together on an ongoing basis to assist in the revitalization and promotion of Downtown New West.

**Responsibilities**:
**MARKETING**
- Coordinate with Events & Marketing Manager to manage our social media accounts by scheduling posts, responding to comments/messages, and cultivating a strong online community.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in digital marketing, making recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Proactively maintain Mailchimp and website business listings with up-to-date contact information.
- Monitor and analyze the performance of digital marketing initiatives using analytics tools and make data-driven recommendations for optimization.

**MEMBERSHIP ENGAGEMENT AND OUTREACH**

**EVENTS**
- Be on site at all BIA events to promote live and create content

**Qualifications**:

- Proficiency with digital marketing tools and platforms, such as Mailchimp, Meta, etc.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling content that resonates with our target audiences.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
- Creative thinker with a passion for staying ahead of digital marketing trends and best practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proactive thinker who takes initiative.
- Be available to work on-site in New Westminster at least 30% of the time for in-person meetings, content creation, etc.
- Flexibility to support on-site set-up and takedown of all BIA events.
- Ability to be on one’s feet for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs.
- Coursework in Marketing, Communications, or a related field is an asset.
