**Purpose**:
Reporting to the Senior Director, Operations, the Production Manager leads the production team to deliver expectations across Safety, Quality, Service, Cost and People objectives. This role is tasked with building and sustaining a high performing team in an organization in the midst of a transformation. With a direct report team of 4 Production Supervisors and an indirect team of 74 Associates, the Production Manager will lead, coach and develop practices to ensure associates are equipped with the knowledge, skill and growth opportunity to deliver on the business of today as well as build for the business of tomorrow.

Responsibilities:*
- Provide leadership to a team of people leaders, through active coaching, performance management, effective communication and development planning
- Act as a change agent that leads the organization towards a culture of _Always Better_ by instituting best practices and promoting continuous learning of associates
- Ensure that healthy operational reviews and measures are in place to track and deliver results to reduce injuries, improve quality, and reduce costs
- Work with cross-functional peers to ensure scheduled production is completed on time through effective staffing and production line troubleshooting while maintaining associate safety and product quality
- Maximize efficiency by optimizing staffing and production levels to reduce fluctuations and drive operational excellence
- Establish new or revise existing production practices and data collecting systems
- Support front line supervisors in the investigation of non-conformances, near misses, downtime ensuring in depth root cause analysis and implementation of relevant countermeasures
- Identify and address key concerns that may alter or impact production schedule
- Partner with Engineering to effectively transition new assets from commissioning to operations
- Partner with Product Development in coordinating plant trials
- Manage production consumables and labour budget
- Ensure regulatory, compliance and legal requirements are followed in all manufacturing processes including but not limited to food safety standards, occupational health and safety act regulations and Ministry of Labour requirements

Qualifications*
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Manufacturing or another related field
- 5+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably in food manufacturing)
- Knowledge of SQF quality standards and requirements
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Operating knowledge of manufacturing equipment, preferably food processing and packaging equipment

Working Conditions*
Must be able to work in a factory setting being exposed to areas with high noise levels and temperature and humidity fluctuations. Typical conditions may include prolonged standing and walking. Must have flexibility to be present on multiple shifts (day / afternoon / night)
