Steamfitter - Plant Operations & Maintenance

We currently have a** Regular Full-Time **opportunity for a **Steamfitter **in the** Plant Operations and Maintenance **department at our **Bayview Campus.**

**Hours of Work: Weekdays**: Days, Evenings; 8hrs; As per schedule

**Weekends: On rotation**

**Summary of Duties**
- Repairs steam, condensate, heating and ventilation systems
- Repairs steam system devices, installs and/or replaces piping
- Performs regular preventative maintenance on all steam system devices, including thorough inspection of steam traps throughout the Hospital as assigned
- Prepares and lays out own material for repair or new installation.
- Carries out other steamfitter duties as assigned

Qualifications/Skills
- Minimum Grade 12
- Possesses a current Ontario Certificate of Qualification as a Steamfitter
- Proven proficiency in the installation, alteration, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of steam and mechanical systems
- Ability to perform work at the journeyman level
- Ability to read and understand steam and mechanical system drawings
- Experience in a hospital/healthcare setting is preferred
- Experience with fire sprinkler systems is an asset
- Understanding of control systems is an asset
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in a variety of situations
- Proven teamwork and customer service focus
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, problem solve and work on own initiative
- Additional related qualifications such as Plumber, Pipefitter and Welder are an asset
