Vancouver, Canada Ballard Power Systems Inc. Full time

Reporting to the I.T. Director, the

**Major Responsibilities**:

- Manage Ballard’s Security Operation Center
- Manage Ballard’s Security team
- Develop and maintain Ballard’s 3-year security plan
- Design and execute security response plans
- Ensure compliance with GDPR, PIPA, PIPEDA
- Develop and maintain yearly security training plans
- Work cross functionally to enhance security across all Ballard entities
- Track and report out on key security KPI’s
- Install, maintain, and use Information Security tools such as vulnerability scanners, SIEM, event logging, IDS/IPS
- Maintain Ballard’s ISO 27001 certification
- Manage patch management systems for all software
- Provision and monitor all network access and control systems including user and group security
- Conduct, assess and action vulnerability scans, penetration tests, threat risk assessments
- Monitor security events, investigate incidents, and ensure exploitable vulnerabilities are mitigated
- Monitor and update all server and client software system including Windows Server 2016 and 2019, Windows 10, and all latest versions of Windows
- Manage and continuously audit processes and documentation to seek out new ways to improve security
- Assists in developing and maintaining policies, procedures, technical standards and methods as it relates to security administration. Forward thinking to identify upcoming trends and security best practices on the network
- Support implementation efforts of security initiatives and resolve of any findings from internal
- or external assessments
- Ensure enterprise security standards are in place globally

**Key Qualifications**:

- University Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Minimum 5 years or relevant work experience in network and security administration
- Strong understanding of network technology, protocols, and tools including: BGP, OSPF, routing, firewall rules and ACL’s, VLAN’s, load balancing, VPN, web filtering, IPS, VPN, NAC, WAF solutions
- Hands-on experience with hardware and software from vendors such as: Trend Micro, RSA SecureID, Cisco, HP, Exabeam, Fortinet, QRadar
- Knowledge and experience of virtual networks (VMWare or HyperV)
- Ability to work after-hours on projects and maintenance tasks and participate in on-call rotation
- ISC2 (CISSP, Associate, SSCP, CCSP), NIST SANS GIAC (GSEC, GCIH, GPEN) or other security vendor certification highly desirable
- Experience with anti-malware, endpoint detection response (EDR), host based intrusion
- detection (HIDS), host based firewall solutions
- Experience with mobile device management (MDM)
- Experience with security information and event monitoring, remote logging, log aggregation, correlation solutions (SIEM) and data loss prevention (DLP) solutions
- Experience with vulnerability scanners
- Experience with encryption at rest and in transit (PKI) solutions
- Experience with identity and access management (IAM), single sign on (SSO) solutions
- Experience with troubleshooting and determining root cause analysis through log/packet
- analysis & debugging
- Sound understanding of Microsoft products such as Windows, Active Directory, GPOs, Exchange, Office365
- Knowledge of cloud security SaaS, PaaS, IaaS (O365, Azure, AWS, GCP), cloud access security broker (CASB)
