Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Philanthropy Manager is an exceptional fundraiser with a focus on building a culture of philanthropy. The Philanthropy Manager has experience in the development and execution of strategic fundraising initiatives that includes major gifts, oversight of annual giving programs, grants, events, and sponsorships. Success in this role will help Spinal Cord Injury Alberta realize philanthropic practices and procedures, identifying new donors and sponsors, stewarding existing donors and sponsors, and executing a variety of fundraising activities. The Philanthropy Manager will be proactive in creating a respectful and positive workplace where all our stakeholders are excited, connected, and invested in the organization's work.

**Leadership and Management** -This position will develop and implement a philanthropy and fund development plan that supports the strategic direction of SCI-AB. This will include providing direction and oversight to the Fund Development Associate, full participation with all staff to ensure initiatives are communicated and aligned with programs and services, and representing the association with all stakeholder groups as appropriate.

**Relationship Management** - With a philanthropic approach, all relationships with volunteers, donors and sponsors are built and maintained with a goal of creating an experience that expresses the value of relationships through excellence and professionalism. This position will also develop strategies and products such as legacy and major gifts planning and a goal to attract a new generation of philanthropists to SCI-AB.

**Administrative and Other Responsibilities** - Maintaining records, producing reports, and using effective methods to ensure effective implementation of the strategic philanthropic plan are critical to the success of this role. In addition, this position will prepare monthly reports for the CEO and quarterly reports to the Board of Directors.

**What you provide**:
You have 4+ years’ experience in a similar position with evidence of growth in your portfolio and measured results. Having the CFRE designation, though not required, is an asset. You are passionate about supporting the SCI-AB community by helping to secure resources. This means that you have experience with this community or are keen to immerse yourself in and learn about the community. Above all, you are excited to bring your skills of nurturing relationships, contributing and growing a culture of philanthropy in an organization; and through self-motivation, show a commitment to high performance and continued learning and growth.

Pay: $38,000.00-$48,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 17.5 - 21 per week
