Mechanical Project Manager

ComTrade Ltd. is a family-owned electrical and mechanical contracting company with our head office located in Cambridge, Ontario. Due to our continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Estimator/Project Manager to join our team.
Projects vary from new build and renovation projects in the I.C.I. and Multi-Residential sectors with a primary focus on Institutional, Commercial and Residential projects. Design build experience would be a definite asset.
**Job Summary**
The Mechanical Project Manager/Estimator will be responsible for the complete life-cycle of the projects. From responding to tenders, bid requests, creating accurate estimates to project completion including budget, timeline, manpower and change order management.
**Responsibilities may include**:
- Prepare detailed labour and material take-offs for vendors and input using estimating software.
- Submitting and reviewing pricing packages suppliers, distributors & sub-contractors.
- Participating in tender closing activities with duties including: create a lead letter outlining our inclusions / exclusions for a tender, review all bills of material for job closings, assist with the final cost perpetration on closing day and submit our bids to general contractors / clients.
- Communicate with customers and suppliers during the tender period.
- Attend site visits to review site conditions.
- Pricing change orders as the project progresses using estimating software.
- Billing and invoice preparation and payment assistance when required.
- Ensuring all safety protocols are followed.
- Manage material and manpower for your projects.
- Attend project meetings and site reviews.
- Sales, customer contact, and follow-up after completion of work.
- Employee and customer retention and relationship building.
- Other duties as warranted.
- Being on-call and available 24/7 to service customers
- Attend safety, training, sales, strategy, and other meetings as required.
**Recommended Qualifications**:
- 10 years of mechanical plumbing industry experience.
- 2 years mechanical plumbing project management/estimating experience.
- Primary focus on commercial and institutional mechanical work.
- Design build and high-rise residential experience will be considered an asset.
- Plumbing 306A License or mechanical engineering background would be an asset.
- Solid understanding of the Ontario Building Code.
- Good relationships with local suppliers.
- Good communication and organizational skills will be essential.
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel.
- The ability to read and understand mechanical drawings, building blueprints, and specifications.
- G Driver’s License with a clean driver’s abstract.
- Willingness to learn.
- Be able to work in a fast paced, team environment.
- Be able to manage time well.

- To be accountable to yourself and your co-workers.
**Compensation**:
