We're a privately owned heavy equipment machine business consisting of eleven branches that operate throughout every region of British Columbia and the Yukon. We are the Volvo distributor for British Columbia and the Yukon, and our product line also includes, Metso crushing and screening equipment, Timberpro feller bunchers, Sennebogen material handlers, and Madill forestry products. As our **Product Specialist**, you play an integral role in providing technical support for Volvo EXC, ART, EMOB and Sennebogen products and developing and facilitating OEM training on these products across all branches and all departments. As a Product Specialist you play an important role in developing good practices in planning, delivering, documenting, and tracking the required trainings and evaluations, as well as bringing expertise advice to training content development. You are also responsible for complying with all the company's established policies and procedures as well as all environmental regulations and safety programs. The successful applicant will ideally reside near a branch with training facilities, however, all locations will be considered.
Travel to OEM training (may be in U.S.A.), company branches and customer sites will be required.

You understand the in-depth details of machine sub-systems, functions and design and you have the ability to carry out inspections and adjustments of components according to service literature. You love to trouble-shoot and you are competent in identifying and repairing faults that may occur in the various machine systems.
- **Presentation Skills**. You can design and deliver creative training materials to a variety of personalities and learning abilities. Your training sessions should be engaging on all levels and promote a safe and positive learning environment. You must also be proficient with presentation software such as PowerPoint.
- **Organization.** You have already developed systems to organize your workflow, communication, and data. You will be able to track and analyze data/information gained from your interactions with trainees and regularly follow up with career development options.
- **Relationship Driven.** You will get to know your audience and you will focus on providing value from their perspective. You will be able to assess and address technician knowledge and training gaps and work with the branches to assist with technician development.
- **Safety Focus.** You have a strong understanding of safe working practices and company safety policies and practices will be a common theme in the training you provide.
- **Qualifications.** You will have earned Red Seal Certification as a Heavy Equipment Technician, or equivalent training and experience. You have strong computer skills and experience with a variety of diagnostic software programs and you have technical support experience. If you are not already familiar with our product lineup, you will expedite the learning process so that you will be able to support our techs and service departments. Your exceptional communication skills and ease with speaking to groups are essential to your success in this role.
