We are looking for competent and compassionate Medical Office Assistants to join our dedicated team at REACH Community Health Centre As a vital member of our team, you will play a crucial role in providing administrative support and ensuring smooth operations during clinic hours.

Established in 1969, REACH is a non-profit, community-governed organization with a history of primary care innovation. REACH is dedicated to providing high quality integrated health care in East Vancouver to families and individuals of all ages.

**Position Summary**

The REACH UPCC will provide triage and delivery of urgent primary care services to any patient who presents themselves during the hours of operation. This program provides urgent primary care to any individual who need it 8am-10pm Monday to Saturday and 9am-5pm on Sundays regardless of whether they are attached to another primary care provider for longitudinal care. While the emphasis is on urgent primary care, REACH UPCC strengthens our existing commitment to the social determinants of health as a foundation for patient care. We are also developing ways of connecting patients to care in the evolving Primary Care Network surrounding the REACH UPCC so that it functions as a hub and integrator in the network.

**Responsibilities**
- Greet patients and visitors by phone and in person, in a friendly and professional manner.
- Contributes to the safety of staff and patients in the facility by managing hazards to health (physical and biological), including following appropriate infection control procedures.
- Ensures the security of confidential patient and clinic information at all times, including securing the facility at the end of each day.
- Ability to work collaboratively and community effectively as a part of a multidisciplinary team.

**Qualifications**
- Certification as a Medical Office Assistant from an accredited educational institution, or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 5 years practical experience working in an urgent care or similar position.
- Knowledge of de-escalation techniques an asset.
- Familiar with OSCAR EMR an asset.
- Ability to speak more than one language an asset.
