About the role

Within the Commercial Real Estate (CRE) team, the Officer has wide-scope exposure, working closely with the Relationship Manager (RM) and being the first point of contact for customers in attendance to all of their daily operational activities related to bank accounts, lending and cash management products. Along with the RM, they successfully close out deals which includes completion of documentation (legal, credit, security, funding, etc.). The Officer will also focus on delivery on Payments & Cash Management (PCM) trade and Global Banking & Markets (GBM) products.

**Responsibilities**:

- Supporting Relationship Managers as it relates to all client needs - engaging closely with the client to understand their business and providing prompt/efficient customer service on daily operational enquiries while promoting banks products/services.
- Primary contact for business accounts - proactively promoting, selling and delivering a full range of products and services, while screening for appropriate referral or RM opportunities.
- Conduct in depth professional interviews to determine client’s needs, opportunities and risk exposure to the bank.
- Working closely with product partners, support teams and other Global Businesses to deliver maximum value of HSBC products and services to each assigned customer.
- Identify and mitigate risks or potential risks to HSBC, including but not limited to credit, fraud, operational, and reputational risk. Resolve and/or escalate any identified issues promptly.
- Provide guidance and assistance to less experienced colleagues.
- Structure credit facilities to ensure optimum balance between customer and HSBC interests while remaining within the bounds of prudent banking.
- Understanding of the market in relation to the client’s business.
- Understanding of financials and the ability to structure complex deals.
- Ensuring all regulatory requirements are adhered to at the highest Group standard.
- Constant vigilance in identifying and mitigating financial, operational, fraud risks.
- Identifying better ways of working and sharing with the team best practices and ways of working efficiently.
- Escalate issues that impact the business and the clients. Being able to raise and identify inefficient process/procedures.

Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years related, banking employment experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferable in Business
- Familiar with general banking regulations, processes and procedures
- Good commercial lending, risk assessment knowledge
- Ability to understand a customer’s business and the fundamentals of running a business.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent time management, planning and organisation skills
- Excellent range of communication skills, including written and verbal
- Strong analytical skills
- Proven ability to deliver creative and flexible customer solutions
- Ability to build personal relationships with current and potential clients and internal stakeholders
- Wide personal connections and contacts in the market
- Ability to use good judgement, be a self-motivator and exercise independent discretion.
