**Work at CBC/Radio-Canada**
- At CBC/Radio-Canada, we create content that informs, entertains and connects Canadians on multiple platforms. Our successes and accomplishments are driven by embodying and upholding values, which include creativity, integrity, inclusiveness and relevance.
- Do you think you have the ability and drive to keep up with this exciting, ever-changing industry? Whether it be in front of the camera, on air, online or behind the scenes, you would be joining a team that thrives on making connections and telling stories that are important to Canadians.

**Your role**

CBC News Network, Canada’s top live and breaking news network, is looking for an experienced journalist and dynamic host to help lead our prime-time program, Canada Tonight. You’ll be part of an esteemed team of hosts, reporters and journalists across CBC News, and are ready to step into news specials, elections and major events as needed.

As host, you’re a natural storyteller with a fearless ability to ask any question and a curiosity about stories that resonate with people across Canada. You can go off-script to confidently cover any level of live and breaking news in a calm and compelling manner. You can translate complex stories into personal terms that make sense for a national audience. You thrive amid the energy of breaking news and live conversations.

You’re a journalistic driving force, pitching segments and booking guests with the team to capture the news concerns of the day and reflect the range of opinion, lived experiences, and interests in contemporary Canada. You have a deep understanding of news and current affairs in Canada, the U.S. and abroad. You relish the opportunity to write, craft, and shape the programming. All work is governed by an understanding of Journalistic Standards and Practices, and CBC programming policies.

As an ambassador of the program and of public broadcasting, you embrace the host’s public role in the community through outreach and events.

As a leader, you’re a mentor, a coach and a collaborator. You work in partnership with the senior and executive producers to create dynamic coverage and bring the best out of the team daily. You live and promote the values of an inclusive and respectful work culture.

**This full-time Monday to Friday position is a one-year contract based in Toronto. **The scheduled shift is 1 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. ET.**
