The Opportunity:
**Co-op, Corporate Accounting**

Emera Inc. is hiring for the position of, Co-op Corporate Accounting for the Winter 2025 Term with our Corporate Accounting team.

This 16-week work term will enable you to gain exposure to a corporate financial close process, and experience with cross-affiliate transactions.

**What you’ll do**:
**Key Areas of Responsibility**:

- Active participant of month end responsibilities such as closing companies, booking journal entries, and completing bank and account reconciliations;
- Preparation of Stats Canada surveys, intercompany billing, Canadian corporate income tax returns and other compliance filing requirements;
- Assistance with other adhoc requests from Corporate Accounting and other finance departments.

**Work term outcomes**:
By the end of the work-term, the co-op student should have an intermediate level understanding of full cycle accounting and an understanding of Emera, and it affiliates.

**Who you are**:

- Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks;
- Highly motivated individual with a strong work ethic and analytical skills;
- Prior accounting experience considered an asset but not a requirement;
- Strong computer literacy including effective working skills of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

**Required competencies**:

- Excellent communications skills;
- Exceptional organization skills;
- Strong attention to detail;
