**Position**

The Research Assistant will work under the direction of the Field Coordinator based with Translating Research in Elder Care (TREC) in the Faculty of Nursing, University of Alberta. They will assist with the continuous activities and day to day operations of the TREC Measurement System project and ensure data collection activities are scheduled and implemented.

**Duties**
- Complete structured in-person interviews with eligible health care aides
- Distribute online survey information to regulated staff (e.g. nurses, allied professionals, administrators).
- Assists in data entry and collection
- Assists with the development and delivery of training materials to data collectors
- Supports team members in research and literature reviews and synthesizes relevant literature
- Takes notes and minutes for meetings; distills the action-items
- Interacts and communicates with stakeholders, investigators and team members on regular basis and prepares reports and briefings for different stakeholder groups
- Assists in the writing (with supervision) of reports
- Assists in the preparation of publications, posters, presentations, technical and dissemination reports and briefings for different stakeholder groups
- Helps to monitor, assess and manage project status on an ongoing basis to ensure project objectives are met
- Assists under supervision in the analysis and collection of qualitative and quantitative process evaluation data (focus groups, interviews, surveys)
- Supports team members with their communication and contacts with sites and receipt and dissemination of study and project materials.
- Arranges meetings, sends invitations and participations in regular group meetings/calls for various projects.
- Maintains detailed records and notes of grant progress to support ongoing reporting to team and funder.

**Minimum Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline such as Nursing, Health Sciences or Public Health
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment and to multi-task while remaining organized
- High degree of proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

**Preferred Qualifications**
- Experience with Qualitative or Quantitative research and analysis is an asset
- Experience with reference programs, such as EndNote is highly desirable
- Experience with TREC is an asset
- Research experience in long-term care of health research is an asset
