**About us**

Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre in Midland Ontario is managed by the Friends of Wye Marsh Inc., a not-for-profit charitable organization. The Centre is open 362 days a year and both stewards and conserves the land, as well as provides school and public programs for over 30,000 visitors annually. Friends of Wye Marsh Inc. is governed by both federal and provincial regulations for all activities and land use.

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Marketing & Customer Service Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the organization’s marketing efforts, as well as being responsible for visitor services, and working with the Friends of Wye Marsh Inc. staff and volunteers to fulfill the organization’s mission of environmental stewardship and education.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Working with staff and/or Board of Directors where required to create a master marketing plan including multiple different strategies, setting priorities, and managing implementation of the plan;
- Researching trends and new marketing opportunities, and brainstorming ideas;
- Designing and creating marketing content - social media, posters, newsletters, videos, interpretive signs;
- Monitoring and reporting on results from social media campaigns;
- Maintaining website, social media accounts, and community calendars to engage potential and existing customers and establish positive public relations.
- Managing front-line visitor communication (phones, walk-ins, online);
- Managing booking process with an eye to optimizing booking processes to ensure excellent visitor experience;
- Opening/closing cash register, completing daily counts and weekly deposits;
- Ordering/receiving for office supplies and gift shop inventory;
- Managing and optimizing Membership services to ensure customer retention and growth;
- Training and supervising front desk volunteers.

**Qualifications**
- Education or experience working in marketing, communications or PR;
- 1-3 years of customer service and/or retail experience.

- Excellent verbal and written communication;
- Strong digital literacy skills**;**
- Ability to multitask and pivot quickly between activities;
- Personable and able to work in a team environment;
- Great attention to detail;
- Graphic design and video capability;
- Strong knowledge and experience in creating and monitoring performance of social media and other marketing tools;
- Creative and innovative thinking;
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills;
- Customer service mindset;
- Strong organizational skills to be able to keep up with various internal and external customer needs and conduct follow-ups in a timely manner;
- Effective listening skills, patience, and ability to work with multiple personalities;
- Ability to professionally manage referrals;
- Adaptability and flexibility in order to deal with different customers and needs in a short period of time;
- Ability to train and mentor a team of volunteers.

**Other Requirements**
- Police check, including vulnerable sector clearance, is mandatory;
- Bilingual (French / English) is highly valued;
- Valid driver’s license, minimum G Class an asset;
- CPR / Standard First Aid Certified preferred.

Pay: $35,000.00-$50,000.00 per year

**Education**:

- Secondary School (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Customer service: 2 years (preferred)
- Marketing: 1 year (preferred)
