We are seeking a **Temporary Full-Time Response Readiness Manager (1-year contract with the possibility of extension) **to join our Response Readiness team, located at our corporate office in Burnaby, B.C.

The Response Readiness Manager will be responsible for:

- Lead the development and maintenance of WCMRC’s strategic response and preparedness plans including (i.e. Field Operations Guides) and contribute to the development of tactical plans (i.e. GRPs).
- Manage certification activities as required, including updating and maintaining the Oil Spill Response Plan, leading the equipment verification inspection program, and designing and executing certification exercises.
- Audit response capacity regarding personnel and equipment readiness.
- Work with Operations Department to ensure equipment is commissioned and made response ready once delivered to the response base.
- Investigate new response ICS management systems to determine compatibility and fit within the organization and is responsible for the development and implementation of such systems.
- Participate in community, First Nations, government, and Industry engagement to support Response Readiness initiatives.
- Work with each of the Section Chiefs to determine an appropriate level of support from internal and external resources to meet the personnel requirements in the field and Incident Command Post.
- Coordinate special projects with Operations Department.
- Evaluate and recommend improvements to processes utilized in the field and command post to ensure timely, efficient and accurate information.
- Responsible for the efficient delivery of RRT services to Operations Department.
- Audit and support the processes by which spill response invoices are generated.
- Liaise with federal, provincial, regional and Indigenous government agencies in support of RRT activities such as Certification exercise planning, shore type baseline studies and the Coastal Response Program.
- Oversee the WCMRC Contractor program.

To be successful in this role you will bring a minimum of five to eight years of proven experience relevant to emergency management, preparedness, or response setting, a completion of a post-secondary degree or diploma, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. You will also be familiar with quality assurance principles and practices, and skilled at managing changing and shifting priorities. A valid driver’s license in good standing is a must.
