**Position: Home Visitation Worker - Grande Cache, AB**

**Reports to**:Executive Director/Program Supervisor

Home visitation promotes positive parent-child relationships, improves parenting knowledge and skills, fosters healthy child development, help families access the network of formal and informal services and supports available in their own communities, promote family wellness, and help build strong communities.

Families are assessed for the program using standardized screening and assessment tools to identify families that would benefit from the program.

Home visitation will support families in their home environment by providing parenting information, assessing child development, and supporting families to connect with their natural supports and community. This approach eliminates barriers to accessing services such as transportation and childcare.

Workers will take into consideration the cultural aspects of each clients’ life and respect the diversity of all individuals and their beliefs. Home visitation services will include intensive services starting with at least once a week, with flexibility for increasing or decreasing depending on the family’s needs. During these visits, the worker, in partnership with the family, will focus on enhancing parents’ strengths, parent-child interactions, fostering healthy childhood development and developing goals to reduce risks within the family.

This position is Monday-Friday, typical hours will be 8:30-4:30 with some flexibility for evening work. This position is funded until March 31, 2024, through the Family Resource Network (FRN) of Alberta.

**Job Requirements/Skills**:

- Post Secondary education in a related field of humanities, social science, Indigenous Studies, or related equivalencies
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license with access to a reliable vehicle and the ability to obtain adequate Insurance for transportation of clients.
- 1 year of related experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
- Clear criminal record check and CWIS check
- Ability to create trusting relationships with families and their children.
- In this position you will need to be an independent self-starter, ability to motivate others and comfortable working alone with clients in their homes.
- Ability to advocate for clients needs and goals.
- Must attend FRN and Interagency meetings as required and can create a strong working relationship with partnering agencies.
