**Recruitment range: $63,941- $70,492** starting salary determined by the PEA Collective Agreement.

**Performance range: starting salary to max of $83,138** is available through annual performance increases.

- Job Summary**Mandate**:
The School of Public Administration offers a Diploma in Indigenous Community Development and Governance (ICDG), a part-time program for emerging and mid-career administrators in Indigenous organizations and governments or for non-Indigenous learners seeking to work effectively for or with Indigenous peoples. The courses of the ICDG program may alternatively be taken as a micro-credential (four-course Professional Specialization Certificate), or as a Minor program for UVic undergraduate degree students.

Reporting to the Director of the School of Public Administration, the primary role of this position is to manage the administration and delivery of Indigenous Community Development and Governance courses and programs, including building relationships with communities, building positive interdisciplinary relationships in the University and the administrative functions required to deliver the programs.

**Objectives**:
Key objectives of this position are: program planning and delivery; student recruitment, advising and admissions; managing hiring processes for instructors; program promotion; developing and maintaining positive relationships with Indigenous communities and organizations throughout BC and raising the profile of the program internally. The Program Manager coordinates within and between university units to ensure smooth functioning of the program.
- Job RequirementsThis position requires a level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree, preferably related to Indigenous Studies, Public Management/ Administrative Studies, or Adult Education, plus 2 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities include:

- Demonstrate a commitment to upholding an anti-racist lens in all aspects of work, promoting inclusivity, equity, and diversity, and actively working to dismantle systemic racism.
- Demonstrated experience managing, supporting, or participating in academic programs, preferably in the fields of governance, administration, management, or planning.
- Demonstrated experience managing the delivery of academic programs, including online educational programs.
- Understanding and respecting protocols of various Indigenous governments and organizations is critical to this position.
- Possess an understanding of Canada's historical relationships with Indigenous peoples, including awareness of the impacts of colonization.
- Demonstrate a commitment to fostering respectful and collaborative connections and partnerships with Indigenous communities.
- Experience working with Indigenous communities or organizations (preferably within British Columbia) is preferred.
- Demonstrated administrative and organizational skills.
- Understanding of budget allocations as it applied to project management and administration.
- Ability to communicate and deliver presentations effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and tailor communication style for different audiences.
- Ability to work and collaborate successfully with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Excellent critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in maintaining confidential and sensitive information.
