The Central Alberta FASD Network is a non-profit organization offering community-based, cost-free services to persons living with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) and their caregivers. We are part of a system wide FASD Network model that has made Alberta a leader in service delivery, both in Canada and internationally. We offer education, prevention, assessment and diagnosis, and outreach and support services. We are seeking to fill a 35 hour per week Clinic Assistant position for Red Deer and surrounding Area.
**Position Summary**
The Central Alberta FASD Network is hiring for the role of Clinic Assistant who will assist the Clinic Coordinator in facilitating assessment and diagnosis processes for the Central Alberta FASD Diagnostic Clinic. The Clinic Assistant will support intakes for adults, adolescents and children going through the assessment process, including information gathering, report writing, and following up with post clinic reports and recommendations at 3, 6 and, 12-month intervals.
**Summary of Duties**:
- Manages the pre-eligibility intake process for clients referred for an FASD Multidisciplinary assessment for individuals (adults and children).
- Provide direct support to clients seeking assessment and diagnosis including appointment reminders and transportation to appointments.
- Provide support to the Clinic Coordinator to ensure services are delivered in a timely manner.
- Assists in the creation of report breakdowns, and scheduling of meetings with clients, to assist in the transition to community services.
- Is responsible for the 3, 6 and 12-month follow up that contribute to evaluation and the gathering of outcome measures.
- Assists with information submission for reporting purposes.
- This position reports to the Executive Director.
**Education and Qualifications**:
- Undergraduate degree or diploma in social work, social science, or related field and/or comparable experience with FASD, disabilities, mental health, addictions, and administrative tasks/role.
- Minimum of 2 years work experience with vulnerable, marginalized, or at-risk populations.
- Knowledge regarding disabilities, mental health, and addictions.
- Commitment to a strength-based, client-centred approach.
- Superior communication ability and interpersonal skills.
- High level of personal integrity and ethical practice.
- High degree of cultural awareness.
- Ability to work under pressure, handle multiple priorities, and tight timelines.
- Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule.
- A vehicle and valid class 5 driver’s license.

The position is 35 hours/week; flexibility will be required and the capacity to work evenings and weekends to best meet client needs for service.
