**Duties**:
Provides asset support for capital project delivery across the territory of Southwestern Ontario Field Unit through all stages of contracting procurement and project delivery including assistance with the collection and distribution of project based information, financial administrative functions, reviews and reports related to the contracting of goods and services and contributing to the project management process based on the Agencies Standards and Guidelines.

Parks Canada's Southwestern Ontario Field Unit is a geographical area that encompasses approximately 30,000 km2 of Canada's unique natural and cultural heritage. From the picturesque Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake, to the most Southern point of Canada at Point Pelee National Park, the Southwestern Ontario Field Unit offers a truly distinctive work environment. EDUCATION:

- Two-year College Diploma in Construction Engineering Technology or Architectural Technology, OR
- Secondary School diploma with an equivalent combination of training and experience.

EXPERIENCE:

- Experience managing projects and contracts in the maintenance or construction of assets: estimating materials, human and financial resource requirements for minor asset maintenance, capital/rehabilitation projects; prepare requisitions; draft terms of reference for both service and construction contracts and specifications.
- Experience in preparing proposals, technical reports, assessment and analysis, and completing annual reporting requirements.
- Experience performing facility inspections for public safety and maintenance.
- Experience working with the public, special interest groups, and organizations.
- Experience maintaining and organizing electronic files and records.
- Experience in Microsoft Office Software (Word, WordPerfect, Excel; PowerPoint, MS Project, etc.).
- Experience leading work teams.

- Experience in AutoCAD.

KNOWLEDGE:

- Knowledge of methodologies used to plan, install, manage and maintain facilities and assets.
- Knowledge of safety requirements working in the field and on construction projects as well as some knowledge of construction and maintenance code compliance, the Canadian Labour Code, Occupational Health and Safety and Provincial worker safety standards.

ABILITIES:

- Ability to conduct work-site inspections to gather information on the status of project work and on compliance with project plans, specifications, codes and schedules and report findings and work deviations/infractions to the manager or senior technician.
- Ability to plan, initiate, prioritize and coordinate capital, rehabilitation and minor asset maintenance contracts, adherence to schedules/timeliness, quality, cost and risk constraints.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Ability to lead work teams.
