The Vineyard Technician will work to support technical viticultural requirements and winemaking standards by monitoring, implementing, and reporting on vineyard productivity, quality and sustainability.

**_This teammate will be accountable for:_**
- Perform scouting of APL owned, leased and contracted vineyards for IPM, maturity control (sampling), yield estimation, virus and disease identification
- Conduct analysis on viticultural and seasonal metrics related to weather, soil, plant moisture, water, etc.
- Execute project research as directed by Viticultural leadership
- Raise opportunities or risks associated to vineyard quality and performance
- Participate and support training of internal teammates and grower partners as part of viticultural extension work
- Instruct vineyard hand labour and approve pick starts as advised by Vineyard Operations Manager
- Revise specs, collate and organize data and prepare reports as required
- Support wind machine operation and maintenance as directed by Vineyard Operations Manager
- Promote a health & safety culture by ensuring a safe and healthy work environment

**We are looking for a teammate with**:

- Three to five years of year-round management experience in vineyards or related ventures; BS in Viticulture desirable
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, assign work in a logical manner to meet productivity and time requirements
- Ability to make sound decisions and enforce company rules, policies and safety practices.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate to clearly and in a timely manner all concerns regarding work progress, work quality, order of tasks, and employee safety
- Must be able to work safely around equipment, trucks, work crews and natural landscape such as creeks, rivers, trees, ditches
