Established in 1951, the Niagara Grape & Wine Festival is the oldest and largest celebration of its kind in Canada What began as a local harvest festival has now evolved into a year-round extravaganza of Grape & Wine delights, featuring flagship events in January, June, and September.

Niagara Grape and Wine Festival is seeking enthusiastic and dependable temporary Operations Events Staff to join our team in the set up, execution and tear down of the Niagara Grape and Wine Festival running this September 2023.

As a key part of our event crew, you will play an essential role in ensuring the success of this exciting event. If you're eager to contribute your energy, flexibility, and teamwork skills to create an unforgettable experience for festival attendees, we encourage you to apply.

The Events Operation Staff are responsible for assisting with all aspects of an event. Duties include setting up and tearing down. This position requires a person who is able to work independently and as part of a team. Event Staff must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work on feet for extended periods of time.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist with the setup and takedown of festival décor, pop-up tents, cabanas as well as booths, and signage.
- Work collaboratively with the events team to ensure all festival areas are organized, clean, and safe for attendees.
- Help with the arrangement of vendor booths, merchandise displays, and seating areas as directed by supervisors.
- Support vendors and exhibitors in setting up their booths and addressing any on-site needs they may have.
- Assist in monitoring the festival grounds for cleanliness, addressing any issues promptly.
- Checking on toiletry inventory to ensure facilities are always stocked with toilet paper and soap.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure the well-being of all participants and staff.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the events manager or supervisor.

**Qualifications & Requirements**:

- Energetic and proactive attitude with a willingness to take on diverse tasks to support the festival's success.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a customer-oriented approach when interacting with festival attendees, vendors, and team members.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing demands.
- Physically capable of lifting and carrying objects weighing 50lbs and work on feet for extended periods of time.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings, weekends, and possibly holidays, during the festival period.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to follow directions accurately.
- Prior experience in event setup, teardown, or customer service roles is advantageous but not required.
- Interest in the grape and wine industry or similar outdoor events is a plus.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be punctual and reliable.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must be able to work weekends (Friday & Saturday)

**Duration**: September 11 - 27 (Extended hours on 15th & 22)

**Compensation**: Between $20 - $25 per hour

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 2 weeks

**Salary**: $20.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 60 per week
