Claim Management Coordinator, Workers' Compensation

Employees can be absent from work for a variety of reasons: casual absence, work-related illness and/or injury, or health issues requiring the employee to be away from the work place for an extended period. Our absence management program helps employers strategically manage those absences
- focusing on reducing overall costs, realizing administrative efficiency, and enhancing support for employees - all with the goal of returning employees to health and productivity.
**Responsibilities**:
- Create new occupational injury case files;
- Assume responsibility for the cases assigned to you and gather all the information needed to open a case;
- Notify the claims management consultant who is in charge of the client when a serious incident requires their intervention;
- When necessary, enter opposing comments in case files and, when the case has been accepted, do follow-up to see if there are sufficient grounds to contest;
- Monitor case progress and determine the appropriate management strategy;
- Personalize and forward requests for modified work as required;
- Perform any other related tasks.
Succeeding as a Coordinator, Workers' Compensation Claim Management will require the following core qualifications and skills:
- 0-2 years of experience in occupational injury management or other relevant fields;
- Post-secondary education in health management, absence and disability management, or other relevant training is an asset;
- Paralegal license is a considerable asset;
- Self-starter, initiative and excellent organizational skills;
- Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines despite a significant volume of work and deal routinely with unexpected request from clients or team consultants;
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and customer-service focus;
- Proficiency with the MS Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
