Description:
Under the supervision of the Manager of Information Services, the Team Leader of Communications and Relations is responsible for building and maintaining a positive public image for KSCS and ensuring awareness of the KSCS brand and its services. In support of the organization’s objectives, strategies and policies, the Team Leader builds public relations strategies that influence public opinion, educate and promote KSCS services. The Team Leader is responsible for the deployment of all communications services for KSCS, as defined by the Strategic Plan and the Communications Plan, in support of our mission and vision. The Team Leader may be requested to act as spokesperson for the organization with the media.
Team Leader with mínimal direction, with respect to business objectives and organization philosophy, provides focused, tactical guidance to a group of staff. Combines fully qualified technical skills to contribute to the solution of moderately complex technical problems, with intermediate level skill.
The Team Leader directs the development and implementation of activities in area(s) of expertise to meet goals, service objectives and standards. Participates in the administration of budgets and may make budgetary recommendations and approve staff expenditures, develops schedules and manpower requirements for assigned areas. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
The Team Leader makes decisions based on significant analysis and interpretation within policy. Modifies methods, techniques, and procedures to achieve results. Has full autonomy to deliver predefined accountabilities. Technical output is trusted as accurate and sound.

**Responsibilities**:
Implements and evaluates the KSCS Communications Plan
In consultation with management, develops, coordinates and evaluates communication strategies.
Manages the implementation and/or development of communications services in alignment with the KSCS Strategic Plan and the Community Health Plan.
Advises management on strategic communications, crisis management and external relations.
Advises management on strategic public interventions and appropriate content of public communications.
Occasionally act as spokesperson for KSCS at the request of the Executive Director.
Maintains a continuous review of the environmental landscape for trends, new practices, innovations relating to the field of health and social services and the impacts to KSCS communications.
Keeps abreast of new communications tools, technologies and services to keep communications up-to-date and relevant.
In collaboration with the Information Services Manager, coordinates the development of data collection instruments/tools to track KSCS services and statistics.
Maintains data and metrics to gauge public opinion that will assist KSCS management in the evaluation of services and developing communications strategies.
Evaluates client satisfaction through two-way dialogue with the community.
Contributes to an increase in the awareness of KSCS in the community.
Builds and maintains a positive public image for KSCS internal and external to the community.
Ensures awareness of the KSCS brand in the community.
Improves KSCS’ reputation and position as a leader of health and social services.
Keeps a pulse on the community to help KSCS prepare, modify and deliver communications strategies.
Establishes and maintains positive relationships with clients, community, employees and public interest groups.
Maintains respectful relations with print, electronic and social media outlets.
Maintains a local network and collaboration with communications departments within the community.
Maintains a network of contacts in the health system and/or with Indigenous Peoples.
Responds to requests for information.
Supports KSCS Departments in implementing communication strategies.
Coordinates and provides leadership and support to a KSCS communications committee comprised of KSCS staff representatives.
Guide and support the Communications Committee to ensure consistency in all communications activities and in accordance with KSCS brand and strategies.
Coaches employees and representatives in the correct way of communicating with the public and with clients.
Organizes, designs, and delivers communications trainings and information sessions for KSCS communications committee and staff.
Develop standards that support the communications plan.
Ensures the development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures for Communications services that support improved operations.
Ensures the development and implementation of innovative promotional, educational and public relations strategies and materials.
Manages and coordinates media conferences
