SafeTO, the City of Toronto's 10-year Community Safety & Well-being Plan was unanimously adopted by City Council to drive 26 actions across 7 strategic goals.

To advance SafeTO’ s objectives, the Community Safety & Well-being Section is hiring the follow two positions:

- **Supervisor, Community Crisis Response Program**

As part of the Community Safety & Well-Being Section extended management team, the Supervisor will report to the Manager of Community Crisis Response Program to co-lead a diverse team of community development staff to support communities impacted by violent traumatic incidents to facilitate healing, response, and recovery efforts. The Supervisor will also lead the team to implement prevention strategies, capacity building and fund community-driven safety initiatives.
- **Supervisor, TO Wards Peace**

As part of the Community Safety & Well-Being Section extended management team, the Supervisor will report to the Manager of TO Wards Peace to co-lead a team of community development staff in partnership with community-based and grassroots non-profit organizations to implement and expand the TO Wards Peace Model. TO Wards Peace is a risk-driven, violence interruption model that was co-designed with residents to build the capacity of grassroots organizations to lead teams of violence disruption workers to intervene in incidences of violence and to prevent them from reoccurring or escalating.

**Major Responsibilities**:

- Develops and implements detailed strategies and recommends policies regarding program specific requirements, including program design, assessment criteria, review processes, performance measures and monitoring in relation to the Community Crisis Response Program, TO Wards Peace, and other community development and capacity-building responsibilities of the Toronto Office to Prevent Violence.
- Supervises, motivates and trains assigned staff, ensuring effective teamwork, high standards of work quality and organizational performance, continuous learning, and the delivery of effective and quality of the Community Crisis Response Program, TO Wards Peace Programs or Toronto Office to Prevent Gun Violence interventions and community development initiatives.
- Supervises the day-to-day operation of all assigned staff, including scheduling, assigning and reviewing of work and authorizes and coordinates vacation and overtime requests.
- Monitors and evaluates staff performance, approves salary increments, hears grievances, and recommends disciplinary action when necessary.
- Administers and monitors assigned budgets for Community Crisis Response Program or the TO Wards Peace Program Prevention, Intervention, Interruption and Response and Recovery work, ensuring criteria are developed and expenditures are controlled and maintained within approved budget limitations.
- Assesses community crisis/trauma situations, gathers and disseminates information regarding community impacts, and initiates and activates relevant City and community responses, including supporting trauma recovery and long-term community development.
- Contract manages agencies to delivery violence prevention, intervention and response and recovery efforts.
- Convenes community partners to intervene in incidences of violence and to prevent them from reoccurring or escalating.
- Conducts individual, programmatic and community wide risk assessments to ensure safety and effective service delivery.
- Facilitates individual, programmatic, and community-based safety planning and mobilization.
