**POSITION OVERVIEW**:
The Globe and Mail is seeking a Healthy Living Reporter to join our Life and Culture team.
Globe readers value living healthy lives and seek news they can use to help them make well-informed choices about their everyday fitness and self-care habits and investments - from exercise classes to fitness gear to health and wellness services.
This beat will explore the hope and hype of viral trends and fads in the world of diet, wellness and fitness using science-backed tips for better living.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Report and write stories in a variety of formats and lengths
- Pitch original story ideas for multiple platforms
- Identify health and wellness trends ahead of the curve
- Work with colleagues across the department and wider newsroom to brainstorm story ideas as well as the best way to tell them
- May require occasional travel for relevant conferences/trade shows and story research
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- At least five years previous reporting experience
- Excels in both feature writing and service journalism
- Ability to read and interpret studies for the Globe audience
- Passion for treating service journalism as rigorously as any other journalistic work
