**The Role: Evaluation Analyst**
The Evaluation Analyst is responsible for supporting the Foundation’s processes related to data collection, designing, analysis, conducting surveys, reporting, training and for supporting the priorities and direction of the Senior Manager of Research and Evaluation.

In this role you will be responsible for defining, collecting and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data, conducting literature reviews, preparing accessible infographics and presentations for storytelling and data sharing, helping to improve processes and tools, liaising with and training the various teams of the Foundation and in so doing participating in reciprocal learning and the design, development and implementation of research projects and program evaluations. Additional responsibilities include working closely with the Senior Manager of Research and Evaluation to provide advice, guidance and support as necessary and ensuring REDI (Reconciliation, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion) principles are rooted in the work of data collection, research and evaluation.

**A typical day would involve any combination of**:

- Continuously look to mitigate bias in surveying, data collection, research and evaluation processes in accordance with VCF’s commitment to Truth and Reconciliation, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion
- Stay tuned to legislative, policy and regulatory activity at all levels of government that may affect the work of VCF
- Support the development and implementation of a Foundation-wide research agenda, evaluation framework and measurement plan so that evidence and learning become embedded throughout the Foundation’s decision-making and the Foundation can fully demonstrate the value of its work to community
- Define, collect and analyze quantitative and qualitative data
- Employ strategies to optimize data quality such a data cleaning, recoding, and validation
- Conduct literature reviews and environmental scans
- Prepare accessible tables, graphs, infographics, presentations, and knowledge mobilization materials aimed at diverse audiences
- Prepare letters, policy briefs, or presentations in both plain language and technical style as needed
- Develop monthly, quarterly and annual reports for funders, governments, internal reporting as well as other ad-hoc reporting in order to inform decision-making and reporting requirements
- Help to increase access and improve processes and tools (data collection, data entry and reporting in Excel, implementation of CRM systems, grant management systems, survey design)
- Document processes and systems
- Liaise with teams to deal with system challenges
- Support and train staff to use systems
- Support staff to define evaluation frameworks relevant to their program areas
- Develop/improve performance and impact measures
- Participate in the design, development, and implementation of research projects and program evaluations
- Collaborate and actively participate in reciprocal learning in research projects, conferences/symposiums, workshops and on-going initiatives relating to the Foundation’s strategic direction
