Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) is hiring a Unit Operations Advisor on a permanent basis at our Co-op Refinery Complex in Regina, SK.

**Who we are**:
**What you’ll do**:
Reporting to the Operations Superintendent, you will provide direction and technical support to process operations, which includes monitoring unit operations within assigned Zone; communicating with other departments on changes in operations; and recommending maintenance activities to ensure safe and reliable operation and quality products. You will execute complex, specialized professional technical services under mínimal guidance. The Unit Operations Advisor will seek solutions in undefined situations within CRC to find innovative approaches and solutions in collaboration with others. Available as required on off hours to aid in unit upsets and emergency operations. Intersectional collaboration on technical and operational issues is required.

**Health & Safety**:

- Participates in regular safety meetings. Performs unit safety and safety related audits within assigned Zone and follows up as is appropriate to any issues found. Identifies and follows up on improvements to equipment and operating safety. Ensures a focus on safety in all aspects of work, and support and direction given to plant operations. Develops and revises procedures and practice for Process Operators.

**Daily Operations**:

- Monitors and adjusts unit operations to current operating specifications while maximizing efficiency and maintaining safe operation. Utilize technical knowledge and provide advisory services across the plant, as well as in specific zones.
- Acts in a technical advisory capacity to recommend, and/or direct the course of action to be taken during periods of upset, start-up and shutdown, emergency operations, and during any experimental operations that may be carried out. Reviews complex operating data, log sheets, and lab analysis and monitors data to detect any changes in equipment or catalyst performance.
- Applies knowledge and experience of plant operation to identify impacts of abnormal operation and recommends corrective or mitigating action
- Provides support on unit specific issues with process licensors and suppliers such as catalyst vendors to obtain detailed analysis.
- Co-ordinates with Engineering, Maintenance and Inspection on issues and repairs in the units and assists with troubleshooting complex mechanical issues regarding various pieces of equipment such as pumps, piping, and heat exchangers.
- Ensures compliance to the weekly production plan.

**Turnaround Planning and Execution**:

- Provides technical input and recommendations for turnaround. Responsible for medium term planning of turnaround improvements and operational support for project development

**Who you are**:

- You have a minimum 4th Class Power Engineering Certificate or Engineering Degree
- You have a minimum of 8 years of process experience in a petroleum refinery or related industry (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered)
