OVERVIEW OF ROLE

The National Regulatory Coordination Branch (NRC), Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (FSRA), provides secretariat services to the Canadian Council of Insurance Regulators, Canadian Insurance Services Regulatory Organizations, Canadian Association of Pension Supervisory Authorities, Mortgage Broker Regulators Council of Canada and the General Insurance Statistical Agency.

NRC’s secretariat services include strategic planning, project management, policy coordination, stakeholder engagement, financial stewardship and corporate governance.

As a member of the Policy Team, you will plan, develop, implement and manage the provision of secretariat, project management and policy, advice, analysis and development services for the effective operation of an inter-jurisdictional Association of insurance regulators, pension supervisory authorities, and mortgage broker regulators.

Additional duties will include:
- Establishing and implementing governance policies, systems, processes and procedures and providing training and orientation to new Board members.- As Secretary to the Association, providing expert advice and counsel to the Chair, Officer, Association and members on governance issues.- As Treasurer for the Association, developing/preparing the annual financial plan, budget estimates and forecasts and overseeing service delivery.- Overseeing the delivery of a range of services including planning, administrative, financial, project management/support, communications and issues management functions and related systems.- Coordinating all arrangements for committee and member’s meetings including agenda, briefing materials, minutes, reports and follow up on action items.- Planning, managing and providing technical leadership for the conduct of research on cross-jurisdictional information gathering, analysis and reporting issues.- Developing plans and strategies for Association communications and stakeholder consultations.

QUALIFICATIONS

Specialized Knowledge and Experience- Demonstrated knowledge of corporate governance and finance to carry out the duties of Corporate Secretary and Treasurer and to plan and manage the provision of secretariat and administrative support services (finance, information systems, reporting) to Association members and committees.

**Skills**:
- Proven project management skills to plan and manage the execution of projects- Proven oral and written communication and presentation skills to prepare and present reports, briefing materials and speeches.- Proven stakeholder relationship management skills to act as liaison with membership, service providers, and stakeholders and to build consensus to meet Association goals.- Demonstrated skills to lead and conduct research and analysis of inter-jurisdictional issues and to develop and recommend solutions.
