**JOB SUMMARY**:
Lantic is currently recruiting for the contract position of Cost Controller for the LEAP project at our Montreal refinery. Reporting to the Director, LEAP Project Management, the incumbent will be responsible for ensuring budget compliance and cost optimization related to the project while effectively communicating updates to the team and involved parties.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Ensure monitoring and compliance with the construction budget and identify discrepancies if required;
- Develop and implement cost control strategies and methods within the project;
- Forecast project costs monthly and make the necessary corrections, identify and explain the various variances compared to the construction budget in collaboration with the project team;
- Monitor and update billing and payment schedules;
- Assess key performance indicators for cost/schedule/performance;
- Implement project finance changes (manage data and systems);
- Process change requests and scenario-based analysis while ensuring follow-up;
- Calculate, from the estimate, the initial budgets of the activities and follow the evolutions (project returns, customers, partners,...);
- Periodically estimate the remaining expenses to be incurred to complete the project and the necessary provisions & charges;
- Establish the periodic project cost report;
- Identify the risks related to cost control and put in place measures to control them;
- Ensure internal/external reporting throughout the project.

**QUALIFICATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED**:

- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a similar position within the construction industry;
- Understanding of the contractual conditions and financial aspects of a construction project;
- University degree, an asset;
- Resourcefulness and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously;
- Self-starter, ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with mínimal guidance and supervision;
- Good interpersonal skills and sense of diplomacy;
- Accuracy and precision;
- French/English bilingualism (written and verbal) in order to be able to communicate with both our francophone and anglophone sites.
