About the Opportunity

Kneehill County has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Asset Management Manager, based on-site in Three Hills, AB.

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Lead the creation of an Asset Management Program including a Corporate Asset Management Policy, Asset Management Strategy, and Asset Management Plan
Develop, review, and implement short, medium, and long-term asset management strategies that reflect the Corporate direction and the community requirements
Review growth rates of existing inventory and the associated impacts, and develop realistic control mechanisms and recommendations for future service requirements
Analyze future funding and expansion requirements to maintain or improve levels of service
Train and support staff on asset management processes and their role in collecting and sharing data
Compile and maintain asset inventories and databases into centralized asset management software (Citywide), utilizing existing data records from various departments, media (including hard copy files), GIS systems, spreadsheets, and other data management tools
Determine the current value of assets as well as assess life cycling data for municipal assets
Ensure establishment and adherence to proper process for the acquisition, write down, and disposal of assets
Assist other departments to ensure assets are properly insured
Ensure asset data is up-to-date and proactively managed within a structured framework that allows the organization to effectively manage and optimize the performance of its asset portfolio
Generate and present a State of Infrastructure Report (summary Asset Management Plan) and provide annual updates to the Senior Leadership Team and Council
Contribute, facilitate, and support regulatory reporting requirements including assisting in relevant financial reporting
Design recommendations for advancing the organization's Asset Management maturity level and relevant strategies
Present to Council regularly as we advance the Asset Management portfolio and function within the organization
More About You

In order to qualify for this role, you must have a minimum of 3 years of progressive, related asset management experience and a valid Class 5 driver's license.

The following skills and experience will be strong assets:
Post-secondary diploma/degree in a relevant discipline (eg. engineering technology, asset management, or related)
1-2 years of experience in a municipal setting
Related accounting and budgeting experience
Project management or work planning experience
Certification in Asset Management
High degree of political acumen
Proficiency with Citywide and MuniSight
Experience in leading and facilitating workshops and working sessions with stakeholders.
