**ABOUT THE EQUALITY FUND**

The Equality Fund is transforming the way that resources—and power—flow into the hands of girls, women, and trans people worldwide. Designed by feminists for feminists, it is a model for sustainably resourcing feminist movements everywhere, through global grantmaking, gender-lens investing, policy advocacy, and feminist philanthropy. Launched in 2019, the Equality Fund has committed $53 million to date and is supporting 650 organizations working in 90 countries globally.

**THE OPPORTUNITY**

Reporting to the Vice President of Policy and Strategic Partnerships, the Associate Vice President (AVP) of Policy will be a key leader on the Policy and Strategic Partnerships Team. This includes thought leadership, cutting-edge analysis, and participation in policy discussions with multiple audiences and stakeholders. The AVP of Policy will bring deep experience working with feminist movements and will foster collaboration across the organization to lead and design the Equality Fund’s position and participation in global discussions on feminist funding, resourcing, and supporting feminist movements. The AVP of Policy will design and carry out influencing strategies that support the Equality Fund’s mandate in development cooperation, philanthropy, and gender lens investment. The AVP of Policy will support the Equality Fund’s commitment of accountability to feminist movements - both across the organization and in our policy and strategic partnerships initiatives.

**SCOPE & RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Thought leadership on feminist funding (50%)_
- Advocates and builds the case for ‘more and better funding’ for feminist organizations and movements.
- Leads analysis of trends, debates, data, and information, for example, of how women’s organizations have been affected by global attempts to roll back rights; monitors Organization for Economic Cooperation Development Assistance Cooperation gender marker data, opportunities to resource feminist movements from various development cooperation envelopes/programs, etc. in order to position Equality Fund to advocate.
- Builds and supports strategic alliances with other actors including feminist funds, multistakeholder and civil society coalitions around shared goals and priorities.
- Leads (with significant input from others) the design of EF policy positions, including making recommendations on advocacy direction and support.
- Represents the organization in key fora, providing feminist insights and advancing the Equality Fund’s policy objectives.
- Supports Equality Fund executive leadership on policy engagement, including by preparing briefings, talking points, and related products.
- Conceptualizes and produces written documents, social media inputs, talking points, etc. in collaboration with the Communications team.
- Strategic Partnerships (20%)_
- Contributes to EF’s understanding of feminist partnership and actively promotes and builds alliances and relationships to advance bilateral and philanthropic advocacy.
- Leads EF’s policy work on feminist crisis response.
- Contributes to the development of EF’s strategic organizational approach to influencing change.
- Contributes to bilateral outreach and strategic relationships including policy related engagement with government and philanthropic partners.
- Supports the Equality Fund’s commitment to accountability to feminist movements.
- Leadership and management (20%)_
- Engages in cross organizational decision making as a member of the Equality Fund senior leadership team.
- Provides input into various organizational policies, strategies, reports and leads on key files.
- Collaborates with the VP Policy and Strategic Partnerships on the direction of the team including contributing to: vision, strategy, planning, budgeting, implementation of the monitoring/evaluation framework of the Policy and Strategic Partnerships team’s work plan (and its contribution to the overall EF mission).
- Leads, motivates, supervises, and provides management functions (including employee goals and performance management) to the Policy Officer.
- Lives into and supports organizational values.
- Overall organizational support (10%)_
- Engages in cross organizational processes, working groups, and coordination mechanisms.
- Contributes to internal and external Town Halls and events aimed at supporting EF commitment to accountability, including to feminist movements.
