JANA’s Business Analysts are responsible for supporting the customers with requirements management, best practices, and subsequently training on JANA software functionality, ensuring a smooth transition of JANA products into the customer environment. Several projects are typically in the process of being completed at any given time, and a Business Analyst must be able to multitask and manage multiple accountabilities simultaneously. Business Analysts work cross-functionally and communicate to all parties involved in a project.
**Responsibilities**:
- Directs technical aspects of projects from beginning to end, liaising with the Project Manager on an ongoing basis to ensure all technical project deliverables are met
- Attends customer sites for demonstrations, project meetings, implementation workshops and training
- Leads technical planning and requirements gathering sessions with clients to develop in-depth solutions and build long-term relationships
- Reviews progress through project lifetime and anticipates technical barriers to completion of project objectives
- Writes reports and provides quality peer-review and release of reports, as required
- Manages client expectation & project scope
- Assisting client in determining the business and process impacts and in the development of change management strategies
- Works with JANA’s product and development teams to understand and plan for new feature deployments
- Interacts with Development, Quality Assurance and Project Management, as required, to escalate and resolve customer issues
- Provides training for clients on the software functionality and best practices for leveraging JANA's software products
Required Skills & Experience
- Undergraduate degree in a STEM field, preferably in Engineering
- 1 - 2 years of experience in client-facing and software implementation roles, preferably with pipeline operational knowledge
- Familiarity with databases and networking, including experience installing client software
- Solid organizational skills, including multitasking and time-management
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interact well with customers
- Workshop facilitation and requirements gathering experience
- Exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Experience in MS SQL Server or another RDBMS like Oracle, DB2, Teradata, etc. an asset
- Experience using data visualization software including Visio, Power BI, etc. an asset
- Ability to work on tight deadlines
- Must be able to travel in the US and Canada up to 20% of the time
