**Sunday to Thursday**

**from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.**

**Principal Function**
- The work consists of planning, directing, supervising and performing activities related to the selection, organization, use, dissemination and preservation of information resources of Côte Saint-Luc library; to act as a specialized intermediary to make accessible to the user information or documentation in all its formsKey Responsibilities
- 1. Analyze and inventory users’ information requests, evaluate, recommend and possibly proceed with the acquisition of collections and information resources, including electronic resources, based on community needs, constraints, while respecting policies and procedures of the Côte Saint-Luc Library.
- 2. Provide a reference and research service, respond to user inquiries and offer the use of different information resources, compile bibliographies, users' interest profiles and ensure the dissemination of information in all forms.
- 3. Instruct and assist users in the use of print material, electronic and otherwise.
- 4. Participate in setting goals and develop programs according to established policies.
- 5. Identify and justify the resources and means necessary for the implementation of these programs, ensure follow-up and suggest, if necessary, service improvements.
- 6. Establish project schedules under his/her responsibility and ensure compliance within the resources allocated.
- 7. Participate in the establishment of policies and procedures for the acquisition, organization and processing of information resources: cataloging, classification and indexing.
- 8. Evaluate documentary information resources for their acquisition, conservation, restoration and withdrawal, while respecting the balance of collections.
- 9. Identify sourcing different collections, establish procedures for acquiring and supervise their implementation. Maintain relationships with publishers, booksellers and suppliers.
- 10. Plan and administer the lending of documentary information resources as well as any equipment required for their consultation.
- 11. Collaborate with specialized clientele of Côte Saint-Luc and outside: municipal services of Côte Saint-Luc, organizations, associations, institutions, companies, etc.
- 12. Catalogue, classify and index the documentary information resources, including electronic resources.
- 13. Regularly inform users of new acquisitions and service policies of the library, as well as introduce and train them in the use of resources and available services.
- 14. Participate in animation and mediation programs, ensure their realization and promotion and, when appropriate, lead activities.
- 15. Participate in the development, oversee the maintenance, determine equipment requirements and manage premises under his/her responsibility.
- 16. Distribute work to staff, verify and approve the terms of quality and quantity. Recommend to his/her superior all administrative measures relating to staff. Possibly give relevant instructions to other professionals who have a contribution to make to the project.
- 17. Prepare various administrative reports and technical documents relating to his/her work.**Qualifications**:

- ALA-accredited Master of Library Science degree
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working in a library providing reference services. Some supervisory experience is an asset
- Excellent oral and written communications skills in both English and French
- Proficiency in Internet and digital resource searching
- Experience in planning and providing programs and services to meet community needs
- Ability to organize and prioritize a variety of projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner
- Dedication to the provision of excellent customer service; and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrate creativity, critical thinking and ability to work in a team environment
- Interest in reference and reader’s advisory services and technology/digital learning
- High level of professionalism and commitment to the organization and its mission and the ability to work flexibly in a changing environment
- Demonstrated knowledge of key trends in library science, including the ability to evaluate emerging technologies
