**The Opportunity**
**Position**: Pathology Coding Specialist
**Reporting to**: Director of Operations
**Location**: Hybrid (Edmonton area)
**Employment Type**: Full-time (1.0 FTE)

At ASR, you'll be a part of a dynamic team dedicated to enhancing healthcare in Alberta. As a Pathology Coding Specialist, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of vital health information, directly contributing to the quality of patient care in Alberta.

**Key Responsibilities**
- **Data Management**: Accurately abstract, code and enter data from pathology reports into our electronic health record system, ensuring precision and reliability.
- **Collaboration**: Partner with the Data Coordinator to maintain and update pathology coding protocols, ensuring they align with current clinical practices.
- **Quality Assurance**: Perform regular data quality reviews to ensure compliance with provincial standards and best practices.

**Qualifications**

**Education**:

- Diploma from an accredited Health Information Management Professional (HIMP) program.

**Skills & Qualifications**:

- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make informed decisions in line with provincial and federal legislation, protocols and clinical guidelines.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a strong command of the English language.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently while managing conflicts effectively.
- High level of decision-making and critical thinking abilities.
- A demonstrated commitment to maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality, with a solid understanding of Alberta’s Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, as well as the Health Information Act.

Pay: $27.00-$38.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
