Railway Signal Installer

Oakpark Powerline Services is seeking experienced railroad Signal Installer for their growing full-service rail contracting team that operates throughout Western Canada.

**This position is will work throughout Western Canada, including Ontario.**

Job Duties:

- Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical Signals & Communication equipment
- Ability to pay attention to detail, follow instruction and communicate effectively
- Ability to perform physical work outside in all weather conditions year-round
- Operate large vehicle and heavy equipment both on and off the rail
- Use electrical multi-meters and cable locators
- Ability to travel across Canada as required
- Working under strict timelines
- Operate various power tools

Requirements and preferences:

- 3 years of rail signal installation experience
- Class 5 license
- Ability to lift over 50lbs
- Able to work with little to no supervision
- Ability to successfully complete CN e-Railsafe
- Ability to successfully complete CN’s CROR Operating Rules course

Preference will be given to those with experience working for a Class 1 railroad.

Oakpark Powerline Services' head office is located on Highway 75, 5 miles south of Winnipeg, Manitoba.
- Oakpark Powerline Services Ltd. is a majority indigenous owned company, COR certified High Voltage Line company with extensive rail experience that provides our customers with a comprehensive range of high and low voltage electrical construction and maintenance services including but not limited to rail power signals and communications, rail protection, overhead powerline construction and maintenance, substation construction, maintenance and inspections, underground distribution construction and maintenance, fiber optic cable system installation, street lighting installation and maintenance, horizontal directional drilling and water pressure vacuum excavation. Oakpark Powerline also performs a wide variety of civil construction work and is available for emergency work 24/7._

Schedule:

- 10 hour shift

**Experience**:

- signal installation: 3 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Class 5 Licence (mínimally) (preferred)
