Thyssen Mining is a full-service underground mining contractor with offices and projects throughout Canada and the USA. Thyssen Mining is seeking to fill a senior position of Manager, Finance & Administration (MFA) within our Corporate Finance group, based in Regina, SK.

Reporting directly to the CFO, the MFA will provide hands-on leadership to the IT Manager and Controller within the Administration department. In addition, the MFA will work closely with the CFO to develop or enhance current processes with respect to:

- Treasury, banking and cash management
- Liquidity forecasting & management

**Key Responsibilities**
- Provide leadership and mentorship to mid-level managers by building positive relationships, communication of the Company initiatives, encouraging a creative approach to problem solving, and promoting a mindset of continuous improvement.
- Monitor the Company’s liquidity position through use of informed and supportable forecasting methodologies, to ensure future obligations can be met. Maintain positive relationships with financing institutions, and investigating offerings provided to support and enhance the liquidity needs of the Company
- Working with outside consultants to ensure financial, regulatory, and tax rules are adhered to in jurisdictions in Canada, USA, and abroad, as necessary
- Monitor the foreign currency exposure and hedging positions as it relates to risk policies
- Work with managers of other departments to maximize opportunities to achieve financial and operational goals

Travel
- Ability and willingness to travel periodically throughout Canada and the USA for site visits and/or client meetings is required.

**Required Qualifications**:

- Minimum of 7 years of experience in a management position
- Professional financial designation (CFA, MBA, CPA) or equivalent experience
- Experience with supervision of functional managers
- Experience in a mining or construction industry will be an asset

Other skills:

- proficient in written and oral communication with a proven ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people and job functions, both within and external to the company
- ability to pay close attention to detail in high volume work situations
- Agile approach to managing multiple priorities
- Experience with corporate tax rules will be an asset
