Flight Operations Dispatcher/ Travel Coordinator

The **Dispatcher/Travel Coordinator** works in Kal Tire’s Corporate Travel Department. The position works with Kal Tire Team Members to facilitate travel planning utilizing commercial airline services and corporate aircraft to complete travel in the most efficient and accurate manner possible.

**Core Responsibilities**

Dispatcher responsibilities
- Ensure Kal Aviation’s operations are conducted in accordance with current regulations, standards and Company Operations Manual.
- Ensure crew scheduling complies with flight and duty time regulations.
- Determine suitability for aerodromes planned to be used for destination, alternate and emergency purposes.
- Assist pilots with flight plan preparation as required.
- Work with maintenance team regarding planned maintenance item intervals/flight scheduling.
- Monitor weather and flying conditions and inform pilots of changes likely to affect flight operations.
- Arrange fuel service as requested by pilots.
- Obtain landing or overflight permits as required.
- Be familiar with current geopolitical factors which may affect Kal Aviation flights, flight crews, and passengers.
- Liaise with US, Canadian, Mexican or other foreign Customs and Border Protection Services as applicable.
- Coordinate with FBO’s for flight arrival, hangar requirements and catering needs.
- Ensure that aircraft are scheduled within Transport Canada regulations and company standards, policies and procedures.
- Monitor Kal Aviation Flights while enroute.
- Work closely with travel team to coordinate travel between company aircraft and commercial airlines.

Travel Coordinator responsibilities
- Coordinate all requirements for travel including flights (commercial airlines or company aircraft), transportation, accommodation, meeting space and catering.
- Analyze travel cost versus efficiency and make recommendations for changes that may enhance service to team members.
- Schedule Kal Aviation Flights with the PFM reservations system and books commercial travel when workload requires.
- Facilitate any changes required to Kal Tire team members’ travel requests.
- Ensure that travel requests which are outside the bounds of the Kal Tire Travel Policy have appropriate approval.
- Communicate with all Kal Tire team members with a high degree of professionalism.

**Qualifications and Skills**
- 2-3 years’ experience in Flight Dispatch Operations an asset
- 5 years’ experience in aviation Industry
- Excellent time allocation and multi-tasking skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Outlook, MS Word and MS Excel
- Ability to work in high demand, time sensitive environment
- PFM or other flight schedule software experience an asset
- High degree of commitment to customer service for internal customers/co-workers
- Experience working in a GDS system
