**GENERAL DESCRIPTION**:As part of the Employment Services team, the Employment Counsellor Facilitator works with approximately 220 job seekers annually to provide individual guidance and longer-term case management. In
- person as well as virtually, this position performs assessments, works with clients to increase job search skills and develop individual care plans, makes referrals to internal and external programs and services, supports job retention and coordinates supports. This position reports to the Senior Manager, Employment Services and is part of **CUPE**
**7797.**
**MAJOR DUTIES**:

- Successfully deliver services to achieve funder and agency targets and outcomes, while ensuring excellent, individualized client service.
- Intake and assess clients to determine skills, education, experience, assets, barriers, motivation and employment readiness, as well as short and long
- term goals.
- Work with clients to build relationships and develop, maintain and amend personalized Action Plans to support clients towards their employment and education short
- and long-term goals.
- Conduct regular follow-up with clients and provide supports and job retention guidance for 12 months.
- Provide guidance on education and government programs and supports, and Employment Standards.
- Make appropriate referrals to supportive services, such as in-house programs and those offered at other community agencies and/or government initiatives, and assist clients in accessing holistic supports based on their needs.
- Determine the need and suitability for Job Development Services and work collaboratively with the Job Developer

Team to meet participant needs and team targets.
- Develop, facilitate (in-person and virtually) and evaluate workshops assisting clients to develop life and job search skills. Employ a variety of techniques to meet the needs of diverse learning styles, experience and education levels.
- Keep up-to-date on local labour market information through trainings and research.
- Compile and analyze statistics, prepare comprehensive reports, maintain accurate, up-to-date files (soft and hard copy), and perform such other administrative duties as required in accordance with agency and funder expectations.
- Perform outreach, present to community groups, social service organizations and others to increase participant and partnership engagement, and provide itinerant employment services at other locations as required.

**REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS**:

- A post-secondary diploma in a relevant discipline, preferably Career Counselling, and three or more years of experience in employment counselling, or a combined equivalent of education and experience
- Strengths in case management and individual employment counselling with the ability to motivate, encourage and empower clients in a client-centered manner.
- The ability to monitor and achieve targets and deadlines and to successfully manage multiple and concurrent tasks.
- Experience in employment workshop development, group facilitation and evaluation.
- Excellent time management, interpersonal and communication skills with a high degree of diversity, equity and inclusion sensitivity and the ability to work as a member of a team.
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite including MS Teams, Zoom, DocuSign, online communication.)

Knowledge of CaMS/EIOS would be an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups, including adults, youth, newcomers to Canada, as well as people experiencing poverty and marginalization.
- The ability to track trends and service gaps, with superior data collection and interpretation skills.
- The willingness and flexibility to alter work schedules and regular duties to accommodate the needs of clients, the department and/or the agency
- Strong knowledge of Ontario labour market issues, OW, ODSP, and Employment legislation with the willingness to upgrade education and training.

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 35 per week
